Sometimes,...sometimes not. If I am freshly showered and changed into clean clothing I tend to pull back slightly so that there is no residue left behind. Before showering or changing I tend not to bother. Its much easier to 'direct the stream' with the hood forward as the stream comes out at an angle to the shaft and the hood effectively acts as a spout!
