Spring is just about here. I want to know what members are going to do to keep active. We more mature members 40+ must really not take fitness for granted like the younger girls and guys can do sometimes.
I'm going to be very active this spring - summer if all goes according to plan, running, calisthenics, push ups, sit ups, bicep curls. Hope to do some swimming too.
For me once the weather turns a bit better and it's daylight longer I start commuting to work via bicycle. It's 8 miles of hilly terrain each way. Dumbbells weekdays at the company gym keep this 45 year old feeling and looking young. I also am into hormone optimization and a clean diet along with very limited alcohol.

This spring I am starting to exercize alot more ! I recently got a Nordic track treadmill to add to my complete home workout gym ! So upon my daily workout , rollerblading , hiking , kayaking , ... my new summer pics are going to be quite an improvement ! --------------------------------------- added after 25461 hours
Oh and I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week now at Planet Fitness . Great people there too !
I am 64 and quickly approaching that magic number. Started back at the gym, Planet Fitness, about two weeks ago after a year off due in part to an accident I was involved in. It's surprising how quickly this old body got out of shape. Working my cardio daily and do the circuit machines every other day. All you younger people out there, keep working it. It's important!

Working that cardio (if you are able) is really a privilege that should not be taken for granted. Use it or lose it is often true in life.
By 'shape' I meant a feeling of well being through active exercise, whether it be walking or rolling your wheelchair.

Well I'm not 40 but I do want to get my summer body back, where I had a six pack I have now grown a keg I know what I need to do but being lazy is so much easier I'll prolly end up moving to 40 oz weights of beer and curling them to my mouth faster so I can justify it as working out

Im an avid cyclist and cant wait for spring to get here fast! And its coming fast as well as each day passes. Im looking forward to it
And then some with push ups, running on the treadmill boxing, etc. Standard work out routine mostly. But when i ride my bike....thats an extra bonus. And plus I love to have on my sexy lycra oufits
I really miss exercising. I've been so ill and have oxygen depletion. I was a recreation/dance major when I first went to college.... I hope to, slowly, get back into some at-home aerobics. I bought a couple of DVDs with more gentle routines for the elderly/disabled. Can't do enough for fitness or weight loss, though. Well, anything is better than nothing!
Indeed it is. It's sad and frustrating to be ill. I hope you feel better soon and are less restricted In your options to exercise cum4steffi, yet it sounds like those DVDs may get you Into to some 'at home routine', no matter how brief or basic to start. Rome wasn't built in a day and any race or journey starts with the first step! Good luck!
