Not enough time? Thank you or thanks is quick and fairly easy. Maybe you nailed it when you mentioned not having the vocabulary. Perhaps the member does not communicate and write the same language as the other person. That's something to think about. Just my opinion, it is much kinder to receive an emoticon as a response than to receive no response at all ( regardless of what the OP says ).
