No. Numb your throat just before you brush your teeth to start desensitization of gag reflex. While brushing your teeth you brush your gaggy spots until you start to gag. After about two weeks you could stop numbing. It just helps speed up the process. Now I just brush the back of my throat to keep my gag reflex from regaining sensitivity.
