Very sad news today. Charmian Carr, who played Liesl, the eldest of the von Trapp c h i l d r e n, in the classic 1965 film version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music" has passed away at the age of 73. I've never seen her in anything else but she was perfect for that role and did her own singing on "S i x t e e n Going On S e v e n t e e n" (as did Dan Truhitte as Rolf whom I've also never seen since.) I expect Julie Andrews and the surviving "c h i l d r e n" must all be very sad this morning too. R.I.P. Charmian
