Seriously? I'm still not verified?!

When I decided that I wanted to get verified, I figured I could just post a photo proving me being me (even with the tag #verification), and not actually whore myself out sending messages galore begging for verification.  After all, when I looked at the list of members who can verify, I saw a few names that I recognized who visit my page every now and again.  And being patient, I could stand waiting a few weeks or whatever for enough to see it and give me the thumbs up (or whatever the process is).

In the off chance anyone sees this, and wants to verify me

That was six months ago now, and I still haven't gotten three votes?!  Last month, I decided to even start sending a few messages out (but not too many) requesting verification.  I even included some of my special tributes (that have always been well recieved) to some of the ladies that I've had positive interactions with, or asked for verification after one requested (and received) a couple tributes from me.  And still, I've not gotten three measly votes to verify?!  I know the photo I uploaded is being viewed, but nothing is happening, and I am not hearing from anyone about what more I would need in order to get verified, if that alone is not sufficient.

So at this point is verification just for the couple of cliques here, and anyone not in them is SOL?  It sure seems like maybe it is!  Why is this so difficult?!  And you would think that if new users are now required to upload a copy of their ID, that something not requiring the "in crowd" to verify people would be just as doable.

You only seeking verification from a certain group here; females. If you open yourself just to one group it could be difficult. It's your choice to be available to females only. Based on my own experience women here are kind of reluctant to verify men. I don't know why. Make yourself available to everyone here, go to chats, and post comments or blogs so people know who you are.

You assume I've only reached out to females. And you'd be wrong. Those frequent visitors are guys, and have written a couple.

Members are reluctant to verify anymore because of the problems down the road that might happen. If someone gets a verification wrong, it could lead to a chain effect where ALL members will lose there verification status and the ability to ever verify again. It's happened several times to many members here, so getting a verification might take a long time so keep active with as many members as you can and visit all parts of this site while you create friendships and maybe down the road it will happen. Verification doesn't get you anything special and really doesn't mean a whole lot.

All I'm hearing is confirmation of my suspicions that it's not about proving someone is real, but whether they're a member of one of the site's cliques.

I'm more than willing to (and do) chat with any decent person on here, but I have no interest in talking about my (or anyone else's) dick non-stop with another guy, which is what 99% of the guys who do write me want, it seems. I'm also not comfortable chatting in public settings (a mixtute of my general low self-esteem and my having Aspergers, and I completely shut down in groups and become invisible), thus why I do virtually all my communication privately. But verification shouldn't even be about "people knowing who you are" (and I'm not exactly new here, and have popped my head out from time to time (usually ending in disaster), so that's a two-way street). That'd be what the popularity contests are for.

If the problem is people are reluctant to verify for fear of getting it wrong, then maybe they shouldn't not verify anybody but their buddies, but raise their standards. Maybe it's my perspective, but clearly I'm real. I mean, if I were fake, I'd pick a much better looking guy with a better dick. But no, I'm me. And my username photo pretty clearly matches the person in my other photos and some of my tributes of other members where my face is visible. If people see that but decide that that alone isn't enough, then it should be addressed, not ignored completely. But in the last six months (that isn't a long time itself for just the minimum three verification votes?), not once has anyone seen my picture and wrote me (privately or in comment) requesting further confirmation of me being me that would make them more comfortable.

And it's also easy to say "It's no big deal, really, being verified," when you already are (and have the ability to verify others). I mean, I remember having the ability to see and act on the Evaluation Panel (something I didn't take lightly), until I suddenly didn't when it became Verified Members Only, which leads to the frustrations I see in the one forum thread when only select individuals and their friends have the ability to delete anyone they decide to gang up on (all the more reason to keep one's head down publicly). And maybe it's just me, but it's also kind of a big deal having the site itself give a clear indication to others that "This person is legit" with a big, green checkmark instead of a question mark. If it wasn't a big deal, then why would ANYONE want to be verified?

Any other site it's easy/clear-cut for someone to be verified, but here, you really are at the mercy of the "cool kids," which is the antithesis of the point of being verified.
