Here's something that made the Detroit area news. A woman in Orlando, Florida was traveling on their local highway when suddenly, something flew through her windshield. It was a turtle! Apparently, the car in front of her struck the turtle propelling it into the air causing it to crash through her windshield. The turtle hit the passenger's seat before bouncing back and landing on the dashboard. The woman suffered some slight cuts but believe it or not, the turtle was okay!

My morning radio program was talking about UBER drivers being able to rate their passenger. Wuh!?

Apparently, MoJo went to the UBER site and noticed that an UBER driver had rated him poorly as a passenger which prompted the discussion. Consensus seems to think that poorly rated passengers are paired up with poorly rated drivers.

"Play Ball", it's sad that the symbolic ball does not experience enough successful passes. I'm not speaking so much about the pass being "spoiled" because someone overlooked the entire list of who has had the ball within the last 30 passes, I'm talking about the members that don't do a darn thing once they get it!

If you don't understand the principles of the game, OPT OUT. Also, don't forget that there list of players is conveniently provided and it is not always wise to pick from the first 5 names that you see. If you were playing any team sport that involved passing, would you pass to the first person you spotted or would you scan all your options? I would like to think that you would be just as strategic in a virtual game as you would be in a real game, *wink*, *wink*....... And another tip for the straight guys, passing the ball to some SYC members isn't always going to get you noticed or be a conversation starter unless, of course, you follow your pass off to her with a private message to her reminding her that it's not a real ball and she doesn't get to keep it.

yeah... I don't understand your meter... I do comment on pictures, I spend most of my time here in chat... but as you see I also comment in the forums... but I still have an activity rating of zero? I DO engage others all the time either in forums, chat or PM's....
P.S. I give alot to members. gifts Ect... maybe not everyday but often. I usually spend all my points on others with gifts and votes....as for your "meter"... I dont know...

I do not wish to embarrass you, you are not obliged to do anything here and there is nothing wrong with the way you chose to act on this site. I'm just stating the fact that you are not as interactive with other members as you think. And if you are not interactive - naturally you are not that popular. I have never been one to read newspapers or watch the news. It has been years since I have watched the news. I can't understand why they only tell you all the bad shit. All they cover is the murders, the shootings, the bad cops, robberies, and so on. You never here the good stuff. I have recently in the past several days been watching YouTube. There are so many heroes out there. From cops, firefighters, kids standing up to bullies, and citizens doing good deads. Why is that not written about or broadcast over the news. Evil breeds evil. It makes no sense to me. I watched a video today of a teen's video about suicide. I wondered to myself how many life's this little girl maybe saved.

So you prefer not to read the newspapers or listen to the nightly news because of all the bad stuff that's going on locally, nationally or worldwide? Sadly, the world is full of people that are heartless and cruel, there are people who flap their gums but don't do anything to make changes and there are good people that walk the walk. The media does cover stories about people who want to make a difference, people foster unwanted b@bies and chˇldren, rescue leagues to shelter and adopt @bused anim@ls, adults and teens that do random acts of kindness and the list goes on and on.

Here's another example; not too long ago that I was thanked for participating in a "battle" with another member. Apparently, the "excitement" that it generated hadn't been witnessed in the forum for quite some time.

Life is both good and bad.

Didn't realize this Forum could or would be considered a news outlet. I look at it more as tabloid entertainment. But whatever. Of course there are all kinds of good out there. I believe that's what I said. But it never makes the news, at least not here in South Florida. And the mention of my comment about your little disagreement with another member in the Forum. Publishing is a business. They sell what people buy best or what they visit best so that publishers can show more ads. From this very site you could notice that many people are entertained by negative things so to say. By drama, fights, mockery and abuse, at least when they are not the ones who is being mocked and abus.ed.

Also, US media very much serve and support democrats these days and their tactic is "divide and conquer". Very simply speaking - people are scared via media so that democrats can sell them protection. Look, people with guns kill other people, vote for us and we will ban guns. Look, corporations want to rob your medicare, vote for us and we will protect you. Etc. This is fight for power indeed, democrats don't care about people same as anyone else and they sure will not make them safer, just enslave.

What I may suggest you - find some internet resources. Blogs of people with positive thinking, youtube channels you like, may be friend people who write something interesting on facebook (not an easy task and I do not like facebook but still this may work for you), may be some thematic forums on redit. And stick to those. You will not miss anything important anyway. Trust me, when something important happens, someone will mention it anyway, even if it's negative and they write about positive stuff. But you do not have to upset yourself with constant stream of negativity if this is what your local media offer you.

I've read studies showing that consumption of negative news or even just too much news is worse for psyche than no news at all. For human brain it is much better to read some new book than watch news all day long. So it's totally ok to control the information you consume.

@ admin, I've not lived anywhere other than in the United States so I have no idea what or how other countries report. If I do want to watch news, I tend to watch a station called Al Jazerre ( sp? ) and that's the closest station to unbiased news reporting that I can find.

Precisely. I can't believe how many of my friends in the US have fallen for it, for the "independence/ unbiasedness" of al jazeera. They don't realize that sharia law is the main source of Qatari legislation ACCORDING to Qatar's constitution. Like in Saudi Arabia. Apparently, they're less brutal than the latter beasts, where beheadings and stoning of women are daily spectacles, but, still, it's a middle-ages feudal/tribal system.

The difference with middle ages is that they have money and they use the money to buy news channels, as well as peoples' consciences. If only americans realized what kind of places their allied arab countries were, they would not be able to sl.eep at night. Imagine being a woman, imagine being ra.ped and then held responsible for this happening to you. The lucky ones manage to kill themselves.

@ sinanff, yes, I do work in downtown Detroit and see Canada from my office window and when I'm home, Canada is even closer yet. Strangely, Direct TV does not offer any Canadian programming.

I suspect that Al Jazeera is offered as a news station because the city of Dearborn is home to many Arabs.

Yes, although many Americans think of Al Jazeera as independent, good news, it's part of the Arab feudal system. Perhaps they support IS too. News, like history, is full of lies, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't be informed. One should always be skeptical, about everything.

Nothing is unbiased. Even the ones we think of as "friends" or "allies" have to be approached with caution.

What I did takeaway from this post AND video was that there is a young girl, by the name of Cassie, who is hurting, hurting big time because her "mum" opted to take the permanent way out of a temporary problem. And I also noticed Cassie's acknowledgement of GOD and how he died for our sins.

You know yourself that you've made MANY posts that have been criticized. I really wasn't criticizing you, I felt I was pointing out what people are more drawn to. I apologize and I'm sorry you were offended with my post.

No not offended at all. You can always state what you want here. And I probably took your comment the wrong way. I was touched by the girl who obviously like you said is hurting. She has acknowledged that she is a "cutter" like her mom. But it appears that she has found a purpose to live. And hopefully she will. But the first step is to admit you have a problem. Then seek help to get you through it. If she has found God and that is her path, then great for her. Whatever it takes. But it showes that there is hope with our youth. Maybe her story that is there for millions to see, will save another kids life going through the same troubles. And to me it's a shame that stories like hers are not broadcast over networks for all to see.

We are in the middle of Fleet Week and tha Air and Sea Show here in South Florida. Port Everglades is our port that's about 20 mins from our house in Ft Lauderdale. We have several ships and subs in port right now. We went downtown last night for dinner and 5 Navy boys were at the bar. I simply walked up to them skaked their hands, bought them a round of beers, and exchanged stories for about 30 mins. They mostly talked about how they miss their families and especially mom. So a shout out to all the moms today. If any one lives around a military base, if you live near a port where they do Fleet Week. If you see these kids out and about in uniform, shake their hand, maybe buy them a beer. It means more to them then you think. It let's them know they are appreciated and their sacrifice is not for nothing.

I remember the blonde with or without her wedding dress but based on your descriptions, I can't say that I can visualize the others.

When you mention that JohnS "always had them figured out", are you absolutely sure JohnS had them figured out or was he just able to dazzle his posse into voting to delete? Since JohnS's departure, there's been a wave of different members weighing in and voting. On the flip side, haven't noticed that the posse has any further interest in the evaluation panel or the voting process.

Regarding JohnS "having a purpose", that's a debatable subject. Just my opinion, he spent so much time hunting "fakes". There is a member that is 2 weeks short of celebrating his 1 year anniversary. If the circumstances would have been the same and 2 years ago, I suspect this member would be long gone, no if, and or but about it. The voting panel does reach out and in a non threatening manner to request that the picture(s) are removed.

Is it the right way or the best way? I don't know but it seems to be the most fair way to deal with members and the inconsistencies within the site.

I vote on the evaluation panel but I rarely refer anyone to the evaluation panel for deletion. The last member I referred was approximately 10 days ago for posting a picture from handheldguy2's gallery.

Apparently, you have Google'd a sampling of the member's gallery, feel free to refer this member to the evaluation panel and provide the links so members can vote appropriately.
