America's demise may come with a much heavier cost though...Historically, major wars often happen in these types of status quo upheavals.

What?? No one has anything to say about my outrageous statement? (even if very possibly true. I am not a soothsayer)...Just look @ what happened AFTER my post yesterday. Syria n the DONALDS lawyer'S offices being raided by the FEEBEES...This is ultimate proof that ALL of us are living thru an historical upheaval. Put together with Russia/Syria and an El Prezidente that is cornered and likely NOT in the best shape to make logical decisions. As IF he ever could...To paraphrase a famous Robot Danger Will Robinson. DANGER...Oh, one more thing. No one living in the present ever realizes the historical significance of what's happening during their very own lives. If they did, hindsight would not be so UGLY...
Amuricuh is no different nor immune to this karma.
Looks like they moved their site to an obscure server
and split into two separate branches.
Same name but with a "e" prefix.
But, behold, some folks just NEVER learn...
Whenever you get an influx of new users to a new site,
the spammers and solicitors are sure to follow there
as well, and before long the site gets corrupted.
Meanwhile the user community doesn't give a shyit
as long as they get their dose of cock and pussy,
they could care less about flagging and reporting
any ileagle activity, prostitution, and drvg trafficking
going on within the site.
That's how CL went down, and now Backpage is retreating
into obscurity
local SYD guys from your regional area to join your group.
I've already started my group and we're now 4 members
and growing.
Just remember that when you start a group here at SYD
you're given a deadline to achieve 4 or more members
into your group.
If the group is less than 4 members it will get deleted
by SYD.
Good luck!
Just thinking out loud
of Legal age governing our own actions within this site.
And this site has been doing an amazing job of governing
this place with strict moderation.
As long as we follow the moderators' examples
and guidelines, we should have no problems at all.
The group which I created is for SYD members only.
That means outsiders must register at SYD before they
can participate in anything around this site.
My group is not gonna jeopardize this site
and all of our other groups.
From what I understand, many of us here at SYD
have been networking in similar fashion for as long as
SYD has been in existence.
If I'm doing something wrong, I ask the moderators
to step in and point it out to me so that I can
correct it or remove it.
And as moderator of my group I'm making sure that
only SYD members join, because we all have to abide
by SYD's house rules.
If anyone steps out of line in the group = BANNED.
Creeps and Solicitors = BANNED.
That FOSTA bill still needs to be reconciled.
It addresses Sex Trafficking. And it also covers
how people use/abuse adult sites in an abusive manner
such as offering sex as a service for money.
It's a vague bill that needs to be ironed out.
Nonetheless SYD and our sub-groups need to keep
an eye out and heavily moderate our groups so that
we're not violating any rules as dictated by FOSTA.
However, you all have an option "Who's near you?" on your account page. You can use it to find other people who are interested in meeting in your location. People who are not interested simply do not specify their location. If no one is near you then you are out of luck and starting a group won't help you anyway - no one will participate, at least no one useful. If you see some people in that list - you can contact them directly via private and figure out the rest.
I know that some people (mostly those who live in big cities) used this feature and found what they wanted, despite that this is generally not a dating site.
As for the law, I may not understand it well, but to the best of my understanding, site owners are responsible only if they were knowingly permitting "suspicious" activities. I don't do that. Alleged minors are deleted on first report, so are the people who even talk too much about sex with minors. People who solicit sex for money are usually also reported and deleted.
That being said, I still find this law dangerous to me and to the Internet, and useless for the purposes it supposed to achieve. Even more so, I think it's counter-productive. You don't see announcements on sites that offer drugs, it does not mean that the drugs are not being sold. Same with this - they only shoved the problem under the rug, sex trafficking will still be happening, but the police will have harder time to discover it, since it will not be in the open.
of Sex Trafficking. Anything to keep the creeps away
from our innocent loved ones.
-----------
It's too bad that many of us mature consenting adults
have to pay for the fkups of those** who want to abuse
adult sites for financial and ****-addiction gain
(**namely prostitutes and druggies offering sex
for money and drugs).
-----------
This FOSTA law might possibly do more harm than good...
People will find ways to connect and meet or hookup
with one another. For better or worse.
We all have sexual desires and urges, and we all yearn
for instant or immediate sexual gratification sooner
or later. Therefore we will do anything to reach out
to those who are on the same mind-set.
For better or worse.
I wonder how people who have been mutual with their
adult hookups in the past now become Perverts in
the sense of resorting to satisfy their sexual urges
by abusing minors and unwilling victims, when their
safe legitimate outlet has been taken from them.
yeah, That thought sounds naive of me.
But a law like FOSTA would only encourage more
sex offenders, because now they'll find ways to
go "meat hunting" underground, out of sexual frustration,
until they are caught by ****.
------------
From a gay perspective, I Need Release with a mutual
consenting adult male friend who is on the same mind-set
along with me. That is why I used to post on CL
in the Casual Encounters M4M section in the first place.
I've been posting on CL for over ten years.
Such needs were easily met there, discretely, and
anonymously with no strings attached, and in the privacy
of my own home.
And even then, hookups were difficult to achieve on CL
because of all the fake ads and game players that
were saturating CL with spam and fake ads.
But at least I've had some good hits on CL, and some
of those guys have become good everyday friends with me
to this day.
But now CL Personals is gone.
-----------
Sure, there are many online dating and hookup sites.
Some are more difficult than others.
Most of then require payment to even read/reply
to emails and messages sent by other seekers.
I've been laid for free before, I don't wanna pay
to get laid now.
And I don't wanna pay any hustlers or tutes to play.
--------
Lastly, if there is a problem with my group
"Capital Region Rompers" here at SYD, just say so
and I will delete my group right away.
My statements above aren't intended to debate or
argue my case against SYD's policies.
I'm running out on errands today, and when I return home
I will handle that matter and delete my group if so.
I have four members there now, and they already understand
this situation, so we'll go back to networking
and meeting thru private chat/member lookup in the
manner that SYD has been doing it all along.
and anything that looks like trash or similar to
any of the old CL crap will get deleted and banned
from there on instant without warning.
Anyone joining the group must first be signed up
as members of SYD and they must also abide
by your house rules.
Again, Thank you!

Well... after the smoke has cleared at CL,
I browsed there yesterday to view the Aftermath:
Users there are trying to circumvent CL's
Personals shutdown by posting personals in the
"Missed Connections" section which has been
relocated to the Community area of that site.
Others are posting personals in the CL forums,
and anywhere else around that site, in hopes to
reconnect with past Hookups and Has-Beens.
Rants & Raves continues to be StoOopid as ever,
now with even more Flagging of posts.
And CL has now become full-blown Flag Nazi
with posts getting flagged before they even
appear in the listings.
Meanwhile, on the Sane side of cyberspace,
CL's Personals shutdown and its current state
of shit-show animosity
has become the hot topic item among
social media circles and news outlets.

You have to pay to post personals on that site.
I checked it out in my region, nothing but fake ads
and hustlers there.
I'm also signed up at silverdaddies which is semi-free,
but I don't need their special features as I cannot keep
up with constant endless emails and messages there. -lol-
but I still haven't set up my profile there and I've
already forgotten my username at that site! -LOL-
removed from Craigslist!
Talk about being Censored by the AMURICAN TALIBAN!
This FOSTA bill was clearly intended to as an
outright attack against the LGBT community
to prevent us from networking and meeting one another!
Capital Region guys who are located in
upstate NY, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
Hope this group grows with more new members...

over the past ten years.
All the sudden CL has become bO-rING now that they
took down the Personals section.
I fuckin h a t e it when the government encroaches on
people's personal freedoms, especially when certain
personal freedoms involve CONSENTING Adults.

Meaning, do the legal whore houses have to tear down their sites now?
Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017
(Sec. 2) This bill expresses the sense of Congress that section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934 was not intended to provide legal protection to websites that unlawfully promote and facilitate prostitution and websites that facilitate traffickers in advertising the sale of unlawful sex acts with sex trafficking victims. Section 230 limits the legal liability of interactive computer service providers or users for content they publish that was created by others

CL is 25% owned by EBay and their primary source of income is paid job ads.

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!
