No, because everything that you see, hear, feel and smell, would make you think that the earth is flat and doesn't move, the Sun moves around the Earth, the stars are holes in the sky-dome, gravity makes heavier objects fall faster, maggots just appear out of nothing in rotting meat, diseases come from “bad air”, the heart is where emotions happen, plants just sit there and don’t do much, smartphones 'magic' your voice to someone else, and earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and lightning are a punishment for bad people.

I agree that it is easy for people to pull the wool over your eyes, but that's why science
is designed to be the most transparent process that we have. It's why experiments and observations are documented in a way that anyone with the right equipment should be able to reproduce it. It's why scientists constantly try to prove each other wrong, and when something is confirmed to be wrong, they will find a better explanation for the observations. It is a process of thousands of independent researchers trying to make a nice article about identifying anything incorrect in the article of another researcher. It's why scientific ideas must work in the real world; if they cannot be tested and verified, they are not accepted as science.

It's easy for a person to keep a secret, it's impossible for a group as large as all scientists, from all nations that are competing with each other, while everyone is allowed to check them, to keep a secret.
