I'm sure a lot of people here don't want to talk about the US President. I am also sure that there are a lot of people that do want to so let's do it here so they won't have to "listen" to us if they choose not to.
I watch a LOT of news, Canadian and American. I don't get Foxx News but I do get CNN and MSNBC which are very left leaning. The two Canadian news networks, CBC News and CTV News are more middle of the road. I watch the late shows too and I especially like Seth Myers' "A Closer Look".

There is alot to read about this,but you have to be careful. Best I can tell,Trump held the funds because of potential corruption in the ukraine government.And he did not want to send money until he was sure it was ok.
Just a observation here,Trump may have ask the prez to look into these issues to hear his reaction,to measure his honesty.Kinda like giving your k1ds keys to the car,"Now you are not going to speed are you"?

not playing dumb,I watched some of the so called hearing today.A man sitting there repeating what a staffer told him that he overheard from a phone conversation.The actual staffer should have been answering questions on what he or she thinks they heard. That would have to be 1 loud ass telephone to be able to remember and repeat what you heard.

This county has trillions in debt.We should not be borrowing money and then giving it out like candy to other countrys while our own is in the toilet.

Phart, you can't separate "the government's" and "the people's economy. They are one and the same. We, the people pay the taxes to keep government going. Everyone assumes that if we go to the World Bank and borrow a zillion dollars it's what we use to pay for government. Loans like that are stop gap. The government needs to cover the last week of November. It knows full well the people's economy will contribute taxes to continue after November. The loan itself will be paid with interest over time, but, US, THE TAXPAYERS, will pay the installments.
The money for the Ukraine was held up for 2 months at a critical time the Ukraine was fighting Russia. They needed the money/help yesterday. The money was released TWO DAYS AFTER THE REPORT OF THE WHISTLE BLOWER CAME OUT IN SEPTEMBER. SOME COINCIDENCE.

Phart, the president is fully aware of what congress is doing. The "secret" impeachment hearings have a bunch of Republicans that can attend. Some do, some don't, but, short of asking the president to take a seat in the room (he'd never accept) there's not much more that can be done.
Today, the full house took a vote and it passed on the rules of impeachment. It opens the proceedings to the public and gives extraordinary powers to the president's lawyers. All the things your representative said wasn't happening are happening.
As far as border security, I think treason by the President takes priority. They are also worried that Trump, in his "me first", way, will shut down the government to stop impeachment proseedings. Maybe you and your neighbors ought to replace your congressman. He seems not to know much

I hope they find a way to use his millions to help deal with the drug issue but I doubt.The drug trade is to profitable for the government for them to really want to stop it. Hong Kong has no nukes, Phart. Hong Kong would like to be a democracy, hence the protests. China, which got Hong Kong back from the British in 1997 (don't quote me) is NOT living up to their end of that bargain, which is to leave HK alone for 50 years. What a crazy treaty, right?...Also crazy to think China would live up to it's end of that treaty as they just do what they want under Xi...Hong Kong is America's and the world's friend. China is the enemy with a measly 260 or so nukes. Still enough to end the world as we know it. For comparison, the US and Russia have around 7500 each. MUCH lower than in the Cold War, but still enough to kill this planet many times over.
Just so you know, Hong Kong is probably the most powerful financial Nation city currently. Everybody trades there, including the Chinese, which receive BILLIONS thru them. Which just may be HK's saving grace as money means everything to every nation on earth. If this were NOT true, China would have stormed in long ago and stomped this revolt out. If they do that anyway, the US would HAVE to do something or Taiwan would be next...Like I said, S. China Sea is a tinderbox...However, I don't think trump would do anything to stop it. Simply because he has NO knowledge of world history or any geo political knowledge. A person CANNOT be president without knowing such important things. Plus, he trusts his gut and NOT anyone else with the experience to actually know what's important to keep this country as well as the world 'safe'. BTW, there really is NO safety anymore as this world has become more dangerous than it was during the Cold War. ...I do agree with you about poking into everyone else's business and wish it were as easy as that.
