All children — and many adults — need to be taught not only to not be the instigators of racism, but also to not stand for it
Teach ALL OF IT.
As in whites bought blacks from OTHER Blacks and that alot of the slaves didn't leave the plantations because they did not know how to do for themselves.
Teach it all, not just the "good" stuff that supports a liberal agenda or other.
Free blacks in the antebellum period—those years from the formation of the Union until the Civil War—were quite outspoken about the injustice of slavery. Their ability to express themselves, however, was determined by whether they lived in the North or the South. Free Southern blacks continued to live under the shadow of slavery, unable to travel or assemble as freely as those in the North. Although their lives were circumscribed by numerous discriminatory laws even in the colonial period, freed African Americans, especially in the North, were active participants in American society. Black men enlisted as soldiers and fought in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. Some owned land, homes, businesses, and paid taxes. In some Northern cities, for brief periods of time, black property owners voted. A very small number of free blacks owned slaves. The slaves that most free blacks purchased were relatives whom they later manumitted. A few free blacks also owned slave holding plantations in Louisiana, Virginia, and South Carolina.

Sickness and starvation are still rampant in africa, and gangs and thugs prevent basic food and medicines from being given to those in need. But instead of helping the blacks in the homeland , the blacks here fight for money they didn't earn because they were never slaves.

The railroads, the tracks, the beds, the right of way, was built by Chinese workers and European poor people like the Irish. The steel was forged in the great northern cities, not in the cesspools of the South. The roads were built by workers of all races. The roads we have today were built in the 20th century. The few roads built in the 19th century have nothing to do with today.

That was a price too high. Blacks today, in this country, are better because they earned it, not by being ancestors of an enslaved race. What has convinced you that there was one iota of goodness that slavery was good?And, you think blacks have it as good as a white man? Do you think they are happy living in a ghetto? You think they like being afraid to go out of their home? Do you think affirmative action is something to be proud of by a race? To have the shame to need a government to give them the same rights white enjoy is not a good thing.
When are you going to admit American Blacks are native born Americans. They are a product of this country like you or me. Their "HOMELAND" is the United States of America. Your homeland is not some place in Europe. It's here and it's the same for them. I find it hypocritical that you fight for what you think you are entitled to because of an incident at work, but, you bitch about them fighting for what they think they are entitled to because of an incident in history.
What is happening in Africa and in many parts of this world is heartbreaking, and, I'm all for helping, but, it's not a burden to be put on the shoulders of our fellow Americans. You know, PHART, instead of bitching about the blacks, why don't you try to help your fellow man with a smile and be grateful for what you have.

Who do you think they can get reparations from? The dead don’t have money. Technically, they are not going after the descendants. They are going after the government that either allowed it or ignored the situation. 1 yr, 50 yrs. 160 yrs, it doesn’t change the facts. The government did not indemnify them in 1866.

I guess I misunderstood. You are right that most of the southern railroads were built by slaves b4 1865. Many roads, also were built by slaves b4 1865. However, these are part of the infrastructure that needs constant repair, rebuilding, and/or replacement, not to mention NEW ROADS AND RAILROADS. In the context of your chat posts, your premise doesn’t hold water. After 1865, all work was paid work. Since then, it’s incalculable the amount of new, repaired and replaced roads and railway lines.

The foreign payments raise questions about Hunter Biden’s business activities while his father was vice president, but the committee does not suggest any illegality about the payments from foreign sources. The bank records by themselves also do not indicate the purpose of the payments that were made.
He and his committee are trying to make it sound as if then Vice-Pres Biden did something unlawful. He didn't even if his son Hunter may have done.
