Thank you for contacting me regarding recent changes to 1099-K reporting requirements. It is an honor to represent the people of North Carolina and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you on this issue.
As you may know, during the 117th Congress the Biden administration and its allies in Congress passed several pieces of legislation that resulted in increased tax enforcement at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Provisions in the American Rescue Plan Act lowered the threshold for reporting transactions on third-party financial platforms like Venmo from $20,000 to $600 annually. Lowering this threshold allows the IRS to collect taxes on everything from a yard sale to a group of friends splitting the dinner bill.
In response to these efforts to target hard working Americans, my colleagues and I introduced the BAD IRS Activities Act. Among other things, this bill would preserve the current $20,000 reporting threshold, preventing the IRS from unfairly targeting middle-class taxpayers. Please know that I will continue to push back against the Biden administration’s attempts to invade Americans’ privacy.

My area is fairly safe, because it is rural, and anybody and every body knows the folks around here are armed. We are not soft targets.
You are worried about law abiding citizens having guns, when you should be concerned with the insane and criminals having them instead.
What is it, in America and elsewhere, but predominantly in the American South and the bible belt, that has poisoned these people's brains? Is it drugs? Is it helplessness? Is it the paranormal? Is it total collapse of society and culture? What is it? How is it possible that such people exist?

Guns are a Christmas present for alot of kids that come of age to learn how to use 1 safely. Usually a 22 long rifle or a 4-10 shot gun. I have never heard of a 14 year old getting a Ak for Christmas but I am sure it happens. Most likely the guns in the above photos belong to the parents and the kids are taught when and how to use them.
If you are sitting at home,or resting in bed,and a couple punks knock in the door to harm you , you use said gun to prevent that harm.
Now at the same time, we have 1000's of teens playing video games with guns and blood and guts and if they "die" on the game they push reset and go at it again. This leads these depressed ,kids to think a gun will solve their real life problems.
If you want to reduce gun violence, start with those games and movies and tv shows that are being piped into these kids heads.
but I do think it has something to do with low self-esteem.
But, much more, I think it has to do with how you see other people.
You have a lot of fears and think everyone is bad. So you feel constantly threatened by everyone and everything and therefore feel the need to protect yourself against everyone else. It shows from the examples you are giving.
These depressed kids are not caused by games. It comes from your society being fucked up and those kids knowing they have way less chance than the previous generation to build a good life for themselves. Unless their parents are rich, their choices are between flipping burgers or filling shelves or paying off massive student debt for the rest of their lives. Then most of them know that those previous generations are continuing to destroy the climate and therefore their future.
That's why such a low percentage of them would vote for Republicans.
Or at least that those Republicans only provide 'thoughts and prayers',

I heard an observation yesterday regarding AR-15's which are increasingly used of mass shootings. The guy said that the reason that hunters don't use AR-15s is that if they shot anything with that it would just blow the animal to pieces.
Some of the children in the Tennessee mass shooting could not be visually identified because of this very fact.
If not for hunting why the hell does anyone need an assault rifle?
Why be left with only 5 bullets against a threat when you can have 30 chances to protect yourself?
It is not the guns fault it is missused.
It is the fault of the sick son of a bitch that uses it against innocent people.

SO EASY for any crazy fucker to get his hands on the tools necessary to easily kill many people in a short time.
In my life, I have to worry crazy fuckers much less, because it's way harder in my country for any crazy fucker to get his hands on efficient killing tools. They can try to do the same with a knife or a car, but I'm a big guy and I can run pretty fast, so I will have way more chance to protect myself from a crazy fucker with a knife or a car, than a crazy fucker with an AR-15.
IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE who had an AR-15, yes then I could protect myself from a crazy fucker with a knife or a car even better, but that's not the deal. If I can have an AR-15, other people can have them too. I prefer no one to have them.
Or at the very least, I would want only people who are just as mentally stable as myself to be allowed to have guns. Because, in a society where AR-15's are readily available, I would have to worry about crazy fuckers having AR-15's too.
And I wouldn't want to have to take that fucking thing everywhere.
But your plan makes no sense. You support politicians who are providing AR-15's to EVERYONE, without background checks, without waiting periods, without licenses that can be revoked when the beat their wife or threaten their neighbors.
That's CRAZY! Why would you do that? Can YOU not pass a background check or wait a week? Do YOU want to beat a woman or want to threaten your neighbors? You are always talking about the crazy people as the problem, so why do you support politicians who allow crazy people to easily get AR-15's?
Make your politicians change their minds and stop providing AR-15's to crazy people, just because the gun manufacturers and the NRA pay them.
