Trump gave Miriam Adelson the Presidential Medal of Freedom, just for giving him money. Her philanthropy is only based on advancing Jewish heritage.
I don't know what Clinton deserves it for, but Soros donates a lot to causes like advancing freedom, equal justice, the movement against systemic racism, improving education and reducing illiteracy. That is what Democrats value, but it is also very much the basis of America. You would know that if you understood the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution.
Yes I am all about making a profit, but a couple days in the hospital for saving lives is not going to cut the profit that much, besides, in reality, it would be a good pr move if not for being simply a gesture of gratitude. More customers would support my business if they knew I did that for a employee.
is what ALL billionaires do, especially the ones you like. For Soros, you have to go back decades. For your favorite billionaires, it's every day of their life.
Trump is talking about taking over Greenland. He's not promising not to use
the military, but he prefers economic pressure. How do you think he wants to put economic pressure on Greenland? .....thinking.....
Maybe fuck them over financially and bankrupt them?
By the way, talking about democracy, did you vote for a presidential candidate
who promised to conquer / do a hostile takeover / spend trillions of dollars to buy Greenland, Canada, Panama, Mexico (well OK, he talked about Mexico before).
Didn't you say Trump was anti-war? Do you understand these are 'acts of war'?
Mexico, bringing it in as a state would weaken America. I have NO issues with military force being used on mexico to rid us of the drug cartels and human trafficing.
Greenland, what the fuck good is it? must be for military positions.
I say leave it alone.not worth anything to us.
panama, shoulda never give up the canal. if china closed it today it would damage our economy. And we built the fucking thing.Would you rather communist china control a major trade route or the US??? DUH< that should be a no brainer.
Are you seriously entertaining the absurdity to make Canada an American state?
Who are you protecting Canada against? Tell me then, what are you spending to protect Canada?
I have no idea what Trump is thinking about Greenland.
You think he's the common sense candidate, so you explain it.
You can USE the Panama canal, to save a fuck-ton of ship fuel, that's why you spent money digging it out. If you wanted to keep it under control, you should have kept it as PUBLIC OWNERSHIP. Instead, you did it the capitalist way and now Chinese companies have bought themselves in, the capitalist way. Ownership is control. And now you want to conquer back that control that Chinese companies bought legally? You're the one favoring capitalism, where money = ownership. There are downsides to that and you are now finding out. Don't be a bitch, to steal back what you lost through capitalism. Learn from your mistakes and stop selling all the public utilities to the highest bidder.
200 billon dollars a year is what the US spends for canada defense. this link does bring up facts that canada is a ally and so forth, but it also admits that canada needs to spend more on it's own military.

time for that to stop
Trump is our plunger, to presurize the system and force out all the illegals back to mexico and out of our country.
Trump is our firewall, to protect our nation from threats
Trump is our liberator from energy dependance
Trump is our lifeguard ,he will save our drowning nation from this terrible economy
Trump is the tool our nation needs right now. When Doge gets into full swing and can start recommending spending cuts, our nations debt can be reduced. When his border czar actually does something about our borders, we will be safer.

And now you're again just parroting what Trump said.
'Why we are losing $200 billion a year'
Find some actual information supporting that.
Canada is spending less on defense than every European country right now.
But Europe is bordering with Russia, so we need to.
You still didn't answer who Canada needs to defend themselves against.
If it's against the US, that's impossible for a country with 8.4 times less people.
Do you think Suriname needs to be able to defend themselves too?
They have a population of 625,000 people. They need to all be soldiers to have any chance against Russia's 1.15 million active-duty military personnel.

Would socialism handle this differently? I doubt it.
Now they will offer a deal for 30 bucks to get security updates for 1 more year after october 25. I may go that route as my computers that have win 10 still work great. Why is these smart people whine 1 day about our landfills being full and mineral mining for battery's is dangerous and etc. then the next day whine because we don't buy a new computer every 2 years or so??

It's not that I really hate Windows 11, I'm used to it now I have it on my work laptop. But, there are probably lots of programs that I use now that won't work anymore. Also, they say gaming is slower on Windows 11. Then there's just the work of installing everything again. Installing it on top of Windows 10 is no-no. It's asking for problems.
I don't often buy totally new computers. I just upgrade parts and swap parts from the most powerful systems to the less powerful systems. Parts go from gaming rig -> media rig -> girfriend's rig -> testing rig -> parts storage -> 2nd hand market or recycling.
In any case, Windows 10 is still supported until October 14, 2025. Only then do the security updates stop. And that's not saying that your PC is vulnerable to attack on October 15, 2025. Windows 10 security has been mostly maximized by now. All the gaps in the security should be patched. Microsoft is just running against limitations to upgrade its security further. They have addressed that in Windows 11. It has improved security, but there are also downsides to Windows 11. It's everyone's choice between the improved security and the downsides.
Do you get that from Windows or from some security software?
I'm lately using ChatGPT for several things I want to find. It's much better at finding good sources for information or just answering questions than Google. It's really incredible how accurate it understands any question and delivers a good answer.
I asked ChatGPT what the downsides of using Windows 11 are. Here is it's answer:
1. Increased Hardware Requirements
Strict Compatibility Checks: Windows 11 requires modern hardware, including:
A TPM 2.0 chip.
Secure Boot enabled.
Relatively recent CPUs (Intel 8th gen or AMD Ryzen 2000 and newer).
Many older PCs that run Windows 10 well are not eligible for the upgrade.
2. Forced Microsoft Account for Home Edition
Mandatory Microsoft Account: Setting up Windows 11 Home requires a Microsoft account and an internet connection during installation.
Privacy Concern: Some users dislike the lack of an option for local accounts, viewing this as intrusive or unnecessary.
Workaround: This can be bypassed with certain tricks, but it’s not officially supported.
3. Reduced Taskbar Functionality
Simplified (but Limited) Taskbar: The taskbar has undergone changes that some users find frustrating:
Drag-and-drop to the taskbar is missing (though it was reintroduced in later updates).
Customizations are more limited, like forcing alignment to the center by default.
You cannot resize or move the taskbar to the top, left, or right of the screen.
4. Advertising and Recommendations
Integrated Ads: Windows 11 promotes Microsoft services like OneDrive, Edge, and Office more aggressively.
Example: Default recommendations for Bing and Edge in the Start menu and Settings.
Push Towards Subscription Models: Some features and integrations nudge users toward Microsoft's paid services.
5. Software Compatibility and Learning Curve
Compatibility Issues: While rare, some legacy apps may not function properly.
New Interface: The redesigned Start menu and Settings can feel unfamiliar or less efficient to some users.
6. Gaming Performance Issues
Default VBS (Virtualization-Based Security): VBS, enabled on some systems by default, can reduce gaming performance slightly.
It’s aimed at improving security but has sparked debate in gaming communities.
7. Limited Widgets
Widgets, a new feature, are seen as underwhelming by some. They are locked to Microsoft's ecosystem (e.g., Bing, Edge), limiting their usefulness.
8. Lack of Clear Benefit for Some Users
For many users, Windows 11 doesn’t offer a significant functional upgrade over Windows 10, which will continue to receive support until October 14, 2025.
9. Perception of Over-Control
General Sentiment: Some users feel that Windows 11 represents a step toward a more locked-down, Apple-like ecosystem, reducing control for power users.
Conclusion
If you're happy with Windows 10 and your current workflow, you might not feel the need to upgrade immediately. Microsoft is iterating on Windows 11, and many early criticisms (e.g., taskbar drag-and-drop) are being addressed in updates. However, concerns about privacy, forced accounts, and restricted hardware compatibility remain. Staying on Windows 10 until 2025 is a perfectly viable choice.
support for different versions of Windows 11 ends at different dates:
Windows 11, version 22H2: The end of updates for this version is October 8, 2024. This includes the Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, and SE editions.
Windows 11 Enterprise and Education, Version 22H2: The end of servicing for this version is October 14, 2025.
Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, Version 22H2: The end of servicing for this version is October 14, 2025.
Windows 11 Home and Pro, Version 23H2: The end of servicing for this version is November 11, 2025.
Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC edition, Version 24H2: The extended support end date for this version is October 10, 2034.
After the end of support, devices will no longer receive: security updates, patches, technical support, and monthly security and preview updates.
You can find details about end-of-service dates for other Windows releases on the Windows Lifecycle FAQ page and using the Lifecycle Policy search tool.
It looks like the version 22H2 will not be upgraded anymore,
but security updates will continue until October 14, 2025.
That's fine, I don't need any new functionality.
I probably will go to Windows 11 then, end of this year.
My media rig is getting a bit old. It's running a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU.
I had to upgrade the memory from 8 to 16 GB a while back, because it was getting sluggish. That did help, but I did have some blue screens of death, about once or twice a month. It will get the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and motherboard from my gaming rig then. That one will be upgraded to AM5. This time, my girlfriend doesn't have much use for the old hardware of my media rig. I updated her already, with the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, I had before. It'll probably go to my testing rig then.
This is Windows 11, but the version is out of date and it is not possible anymore to update that, because your PC doesn't have TPM 2.0. The best thing is to get a TPM 2.0 module for your motherboard. For what I've seen, it's between $15 and $20. It will allow your PC to run the update and the enhance security of Windows 11, but it's a gamble if the PC will keep running well.
Could drop the smoking rate by 1% by 2100. WOW.
Ok, so what about all the jobs? the crime that will have to be dealt with? is that really worth 1% over 75 fucking years?
OH and another 1,

Now this might actually help later this month as the new admin starts trying to find all the illegals and haul their ass's out of here. when they go to cash the check, load em in the bus and take them away! And keep the fucking 580 for the cost of deportation! No need in the taxpayers paying to get rid of them and give them money!
It's a rule to lower the nicotine content in cigarettes.
It's what makes cigarettes addictive. I thought you hated addictions?
It will stop making teens addicted, just because they want to look cool.
Smokers who are addicted to nicotine can just buy nicotine gum and patches.
They don't have to buy cigarettes from criminals. No one is making nicotine an illegal substance.
So funny that you show me an article with the exact argument I always use for drugs legalization/taxation/regulation; CRIME.
Why do you only understand that argument, when Democrats want to limit easy access
to something that people are addicted to?
It's not even the same situation. Would you legalize THC chewing gum for regulated sale,
so people don't have to smoke weed? How about providing medical grade heroine and cocaine to addicts, under supervision, so they don't have to buy it from drugs cartels?
Actually, for cigarettes and nicotine, YOU want an open, unregulated market. WHY?
It makes people horribly addicted and kills more people than any other drugs.
[Tobacco kills more than 480,000 people annually – more than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined]
Why the different standards for smoking?
It's NOT ME, who has different standards for smoking and drugs. I'm not saying cigarettes should be banned or nicotine should be banned. It's legalize, tax and REGULATE.
It's a good regulation to split the smoking from the nicotine. Then people won't get cancer while getting their fix AND smoking to look cool doesn't result in getting addicted.
IT'S THE PERFECT REGULATION!!!
How long did you think about this, before thinking: "It's Biden, so it's bad!"?
and besides, it clearly states MOST cigs are beyond this limit so it is essentially a ban
"The Biden administration is advancing a proposal to significantly reduce nicotine levels in cigarettes, aiming to make them minimally or non-addictive. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suggested reducing nicotine content by up to 95%.
The FDA's proposed rule, titled "Tobacco Product Standard for Nicotine Level of Certain Tobacco Products," completed regulatory review on January 3, 2025. If implemented, this regulation would establish a maximum nicotine level for cigarettes and certain other combusted tobacco products.
The initiative aims to decrease the likelihood of addiction among new smokers and assist current smokers in quitting. However, critics argue that such a reduction could lead to unintended consequences, including increased cigarette consumption to compensate for lower nicotine levels and the potential growth of a black market for higher-nicotine products.
It's important to note that the proposed rule has not yet been finalized. The FDA is expected to issue the proposed rule before the end of President Biden's term on January 20, 2025, after which there will be a public notice and comment period. The final decision will likely fall under the incoming administration."
So, ChatGPT partly agrees with you. However, don't you think that new smokers will get addicted less? If they reduced the nicotine to zero, no one would get addicted to cigarettes anymore. Smokers would need to get their fix in another way, like chewing gum.
ChatGPT provides the following information:
"A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine projected that implementing a nicotine-reduction policy could lead to a 16% decrease in smoking prevalence within the first year. By 2060, smoking rates could drop to 1.4%, representing an 82% reduction compared to maintaining current nicotine levels. This decline could potentially prevent up to 8.5 million tobacco-related deaths by 2100.
These projections suggest that reducing nicotine levels in cigarettes could significantly decrease smoking prevalence and related health issues over time. However, the actual impact would depend on various factors, including policy implementation, public acceptance, and the availability of support for smoking cessation."
It's only a ban if cigarette manufacturers are unable to reduce nicotine levels. Since a lot of them artificially ADD nicotine, it's easy for them to just stop doing that.

Although it can be dangerous for children and elderly, the risk of it turning into a similar worldwide crisis is very small. It would have already happened, if that was a risk.

as if the injured people deserved what happened perhaps?
And the asshole didn't even have the balls to blow himself up with the truck, he shot himself first.I wish the gun had miss fired and he could have roasted alive.
Trump and Musk are destroying the country that he dedicated his life to.
They ARE distorting people's brains, but just to make them believe
that America is the protector of the world and joining the military
is the most noble thing someone can ever do.
It's ALL the self interest of your powerful and wealthy people. It's good for oil profits, profits of the military industrial complex, it serves to keep the USA on top of the food chain and it serves to keep the capitalist system going and to crush all alternatives, which again only serves your wealthy people, who profit from capitalism.
It IS America taking care of it's damn self, and then distorting your brain into thinking you are the guardians of the universe. And don't think you, as an American, benefit from America behaving like that in the world. You are not as much a victim of it as eg some kid being buried alive while mining cobalt, but you're still a victim and it's time you realize it, instead of propping up the owner class, that keeps you down.
I really thought this time it was a liberal, or someone who at least was angry
about Trump and Elon attacking democracy and being corrupt, evil liars,
but no, of course not, just another crazy right-winger, even a big Trump fan.
